I did not get a clear photo of Luna’s visit inside the nest box this morning, it was 10:24am.
She used her whistle call at feeding time, I heard her well but someone was too close to the cam.
Note: I realized that earlier today Luna was inside the nest box. I will check older photos and see if I’ve captured a nice photo of her today.
Didn’t have sound, my screen had blue spiny circle. But, sticking to my hunch this was Noche once again. His feathers/facial features and behavior differ from Luna. The owlets behave different too. Youngest tends to nip at Luna’s legs and the other owlets, but not towards Noche.
All three owlets beneath… my guess is Noche. In front of him in the corner is prey, not an owlet.
Handsome owl.
Large pieces of meat for the owlets, substantial prey again.
Beak to beak feeding again tonight. Cannot ID prey. Nice feeding time.
Fantastic, feeding. Screen sticks, hope to get more photos.
Hungry eyes. Although they had a large prey drop early today.
Off Topic:
Honor and Remember our armed forces who gave their lives, with observances and festivities that we have because of their sacrifices.
Such a fun age. Daily adventures on a small scale, but it’s there world for now. Life is good.
While uploading photos I didn’t watch live action of self feelings, but as I return to live view, one rests cozy and content looking. One stares at the entrance, ground and cam. One bobs and weaves side to side, to size up a large ant on the wall.
Photo 5 of 5 from the large prey delivery and life lessons of shredding prey. Eye contact, perhaps.
These are great times for the Barred’s.
Photo 4 of 5. Gentle affection between them. Nice to watch and share the photos.
Still watching, learning and waiting. 3 of 5. Eye contact.
Watching closely. 2 of 5.
A sequence of 5 fantastic photos to come. 1 of 5.
Food still mystery meat. Adult, I believe it’s Noche. The feather tips are smooth, the owlets sit quiet and still, even the youngest isn’t so vocal. The owlets don’t peck at his legs nor demand food. Instead, they stood by for 30 minutes and watched (Noche) teach them about holding and shredding prey.
How many times can I say fantastic? Once more. A life lesson for the owlets and after 30 minutes, the prey is shredded and waiting for them.

Large food drop.at 8:07am. Bunny/squirrelfish to be determined soon I hope.
All three are standing, very active and have high interests in finishing the bird it seems.
Sharing, gentleness and an occasional grunt of disapproval. but they get along so well.
Today, hops across the nest box, wing flaps, they are a thriving family. Another fantastic day and evening.
Edit: Owlet makes a run for it with the prey. The others didn’t react, they are well fed. Gnite. GMorning.
Two owlets are still eating. A hissy fit happens as one tries to swallow the rest of the prey, normal, I’d say.
5 of 5.
Sharing the prey. Each owlet got to hold and tear at the prey, carry it around.
In the time it took me to upload, wondering what has happened. One more update for this evening…
Photo 4 of 5.
Holding and tearing prey. Owlet manages very well.
Photo 3 of 5. Self feeding prey/bird. Holding and tearing with talons, very nice.
Photos 2 of 5.
Chatty owlet always loudest, may be because it is the smallest.
Doesn’t realize yet that sibling has a bird, tucked in the corner.
Food drop off-bird. Photo 1 of 5.
Owlet takes prey to the back corner and eventually drags it around. During this time both siblings joined in and each got turns tearing at the prey and carrying it around.
As all 3 owlets have feathers in their beaks, nice.
Owlets react to food drop. Adult enters the nest box for a short visit, no photo with the adult (too much movement)
Luna’s mind drifts and her focus is to return to the hunt.
