  1. See owlet In the back/right.

Head bent far backwards! Not the first time I’ve seen the owlets do this. Close look the beak is upside down. Seeing the innocence and seeing them do new things and learn, it is awesome.

  2. Owlet number 2 with wings high, stood straight up on two and tumbled forward, also dog barking and owlet screed, too cute. Owlet was being fierce against dog!

  3. Two and three… See it?
Looks like a 3 to me. Owlet I’m calling number 2 was standing upright and tipped over forward!

  4. Simply beautiful. Seems every hour the feathers grow more.
Owlets are 11, 10 and 9 days old today.

Definite differences between them, but all three have special features and distinct
Facial markings, at least for now.

  5. Luna leaves nest box at 11:40am. Owlets “rubber chicken” pose is adorable. Best means to stay cool.

  6. Luna leaves nest box at 11:40am. Owlet assumes the “rubber chicken” pose. Assuming the extended legs maximize cooling effect. Too cute!

  7. Top left corner by the ruler, can very well be Luna’s tail. Owlets are stirring.

Another win, win. Keeping the nest box shaded.

  8. As I added weather report Luna left the nest box. Didn’t hear her take off from the perch, but hopefully she will have a refreshing dip in the stream and bring a frog, A win, win.

Owlets are sleeping. Will get a photo if they get active (soon)

  9. A very warm day ahead. Temps about 85 degrees with bright sunshine. Humidity in the mid 40%.

Already 77 degrees and humidity at 70% so good that this should be dropping. Good for owls and people.

  10. Luna has left the nest box again, it is now 1:00am. Owlets are huddled and going great. Nibbling at prey, preening feathers and doing what little owlets are supposed to do. A joy to watch them grow.

  11. Luna is back at 12:47am just as I added the last photo of owlets. A good hunting evening, everyone ate well again today.

  12. Owlets are still alone as both parents hunt. About 9:30pm another food drop, looked like a frog, gone fast and back to hunting.

  13. Alert to parents activities outside.

Food drop and adult flew out again. Luna and her Noche are both hunting a lot more to build a cache, but it doesn’t last.

    Excellent parenting!

  14. Owlets have changed so much all in one day! Big stretch and gaining balance.

  15. At 4:00pm Luna was hooting and Noches responds, after a few calls the owlet chimed in.
