  1. Loved reading your comments, Lynn. Now I am all caught up. Great little family.

  2. Another Great moment. I did capture a few images where a frog was visible but image were blurred. I can say for sure, they are eating a frog.

Owlets were attempting to self feed last evening also. They’ve begun to sit upright and are more alert now.

  3. Another photo from last evening. Luna and Noche both were hunting and there were a few food drops. A frog was shared in this photo.

Luna, on her haunches. Powerful talons.

  4. (Adult) flies out and a new food drop is visible in between two owlets. Seemed different behavior. Can it be Noche has a good look at his offspring. May be, As owlets watched their parent fly out.

  5. Twice an adult entered, that it seemed it may have been Noche.
(Adult) entered the nest box and stood still for a short while and flew out.

  6. Luna isn’t pleased with bluejays nearby. They may represent a threat to her and the owlets. She clacks her beak and gives a warning.

She hasn’t reacted to the wrens, but she reacts to bluejays.

  7. Luna is panting early this morning, there may be a lot of space today to allow everyone to cool down. She’s still got them kept under wing, for now.

  8. Noche delivers food drop at 1:34am. Luna may have eaten. She was panting a little.

  9. Noche just left a food drop. I missed a fantastic photo of them! Luna has that look that she gets as he flies away. Bird is currently cached in back right corner.

  10. Luna may have been perched, this was a long time to be away, more than 40 minutes. She’s back at 11:57pm. Sounds like feeding time.

  11. Arrival possibly on perch, about 11:16pm and (she) exits the nest box. Owlets are huddled and look cozy.

  12. Luna flew out at 10:25pm at 10:33pm (she) enters… Standing still and listening at the entrance, Luna normally goes directly to the owlets. Currently, standing at the entrance way still.

  13. Luna preened owlet. There is/was wood chips on owlets beak. Two of the little ones were pecking the mulch, practicing self feeding maybe. Amazing instinct.

  14. Luna returned at 8:55pm. She had a nice dip in the stream. Her feathers are wet.

  15. Luna is allowing some freedom! Nicer weather and the owlets are active!
