Stronger every day.
Owlet sneaks out from under Luna. Trying to upright itself, too cute.

So far, a quiet morning for the Barred’s. Luna is expressing her discontent with the flies! She is snapping and grunting at them.
Luna’s canopy and a fantastic day for observing. Admiring their beauty as always.

Noche returns for 3rd time in an hour… Frog drop. He’s hooting again nearby. Get a rabbit Noche!
Luna fed fresh prey to the owlets both drops this evening. She put the mouse in front of them, life lessons as she proceeds to feed them.
Noche returns with a mouse.
Luna flew off at 9:34pm. There was a noise outside but no hooting.
She returned after a short outing. Still listening outside…
Feeding winds down. Pretty Luna.
Noche delivers food drop at 9:05pm. Owlets get active and a good ten minute long feeding.
Prey looked dark and flat. Luna tugged hard to shred prey for the owlets.
Thanks to admins fbpage, caught Luna’s outing and got photo of the three owlets.
I’ve only logged in at 8:05pm. Hearing humans and mechanical beasts outside, Wonder if Luna will stay put a while.
I need to keep an eye out for behavioral changes. Since so much has happened in the last week.

Weather was chilly. Rare and took us a good while to see the owlet.

A very good day, Luna and her owlets are staying cool by panting and lying still.

Luna creates a safe haven for the owlets, a great view of her wing mantle/canopy. She shields the owlets very well.

Photo is out of sequence order and not too clear, but all three little heads are visible.
Too cute. A nice meaty morsel and the owlets ate well.
Seems that feeding the owlets bird/prey is the best choice? May be that they are softer and easier for the owlets to swallow, although they do ingest feathers too. Just an observation and comparison from last season. Noche brings many birds to the nest box after hatch.
