Barred Owls 2015 — 2,483 Comments

  1. Rain must be blowing inside and/or bouncing droplets inside from the perch area. Luna keeps her eggs dry.
Still, by far, the warmest and driest nest.

  2. A warm and dry nest box is a great thing!

Soaking rain falling, April showers. Luna has tiny beads of water on her that bounce in every once in a while.

Hi: 56° F Rain. Cooler with highs in the mid 50s. East winds 10 to 15 mph.

  3. Luna’s return was 7:46pm. Feathers and shaving sticking to her beak, did she catch a frog or have a drink of water from the nearby stream? Seems she did.

  4. Luna has her outing, she left 7:40pm. Heard hooting call, who cooks for you and the monkey call at 7:45pm, then she returns.

  5. Luna looks comfy on a sunny morning.

Her three eggs are 25 days, 22 days and 19 days old today.

  6. 4:34pm Luna stood and all three eggs were visible! I didn’t get a good photo.

  7. Photo of Luna’s head rotated at a 180° angle. As often as I’ve watched her, it only now occurred to me seeing the overhead view.

  8. Resting up well and good, another fantastic afternoon so far.
Interesting to see the roof cam shows Luna leaning against the back wall. I imagine them nesting in tree cavities and that leaning is natural and a comfort to her.

Not so noticeable looking at her straight on. Also, her head is at
    a 180° turn. wow Luna

  9. Luna is panting to cool off, she’s resting well. Second time today she has been “singing” May be talking to her eggs.

  10. Nest box area.

    Rain: 0.14″
    Gust: ESE 8
    Wind Chill: 53°F
    Humidity: 100%

Showery kind of day off and on. Temps about 68°
Luna is panting this morning, high humidity and then a visitor…

  11. Luna had a visitor. The squirrel didn’t stay long. Really interesting that she stayed very still and clicked her beak loudly, never really moved. Maybe one more inch and the squirrel could have had a really bad day.

At 8:41am Luna began to make her chirping sounds, talking to the eggs… that is what some say.
