  1. Luna’s whistle calls are getting louder. It’s that time of night, about this time of day, she’s been taking short flights. Perhaps getting a drink from the stream, stretching her wings and
relieving herself. Maybe catching a quick meal!

She’s looking up towards the entrance and she is opening her beak to call now. Most times her beak is closed, but she’s definitely being more vocal.

  2. Shout out to Orville Todd Middle School. The local weather station to the nest area, according to Weatherbug!

  3. A fantastic day in the nest box. Luna whistle-calls regularly. The sun shines on her feathers, a bright sunny day.

  4. Noche delivers! Luna had a food drop, mouse about 11pm last night.
Luna and Noche now have three eggs.

    egg #1. 3/25/15
    egg #2. 3/28/15
    egg #3. 3/31/15

She is resting well and good this morning. A quiet morning so far. I did notice she had a new chest bump when she rolls the eggs! It seems rolling three takes some practice.

(Thanks admin for photo.Appreciated very much.)

  5. 10:24pm. First noticed she’s back on the eggs. Missed her re-entry and don’t know if she has prey. She could very well be feasting on her outings, would be nice to see her eat. Beautiful, Bella Luna!

She’s rolling three eggs, a new technique!

  6. Luna was looking exhausted but still she flew off. Hope she gets a nice meal quickly. Seems it takes a lot of energy to lay an egg and there’s Three amazing eggs!

  7. Imagine Luna’s got her wings far back to prevent the eggs from getting wet. Since its been raining.

  8. 8:13pm I first noticed she’s back on the eggs. Missed seeing if she brought food back.

  9. Where is Noche? He is due to begin regular food drops to his Luna.

Time will tell, if she flies off tonight, we will get a chance to do an egg count.

All her behaviors today, then resting with her head down…. I’d say there’s another egg!

  10. Based on the average egg laying schedules, if she is going to have another egg, it is right on time.

Meanwhile, these two eggs are wonderfully taken care of.
Luna will be warm with the sun shining on her.

Another fantastic day for them so far.

  11. Can she have egg #3 soon? Very high tail, chewing, rotating and just after this photos she lifted and looked at the eggs, I only saw two but she seemed to be counting! well…

  12. Pretty Luna is relaxed and laying on her eggs. A fantastic look at her with the morning sun rising.

    Egg Watch continues!

    Egg #1- 3/25
    Egg #2- 3/28

If she has a third egg, it could be today.

  13. About 10:15pm Luna flew out. Ten minutes later Noche was on the perch it seemed. In the distance I heard Luna’s whistling call. She soon after entered the nest box. I didn’t see food drop or that she brought prey in.

Without seeing either of them, assuming. But they were communicating with each other.

  14. Don’t let the closed eyes fool you! Luna was just hooting loudly.
“Who cooks for you” A request for Noche to bring her food?

  15. This time last season…

Admin had posted the first photo to this page.
Andrew shared photos and stories about the owls from outside the nest.
    Luna’s second egg arrived.
Luna lays comfortably on the eggs.
**Noche began bringing food into the next box, after the second egg arrived.

** Wasn’t able to keep a good watch last evening. I saw Luna flew off and was gone for some time. I would stretch and guess that anyday now he will begin food drops to her.

  16. Looking good inside the nest box. Luna is on her eggs.
She was out of the nest last evening and I didn’t catch her exit
    or return times.
