  1. What a stretch! Sol stood up and stretched the wings and legs!
Looked like it felt so good. Wonderful.

  2. Both adults are in the area. One quickly visits in and out of the nest box and feathers brush by Sol, what an expression.

  3. Sol is listening outside. Another tiny visitor in the nest box. This owlet changes from morning to night. Beautiful.

  4. For those fascinated by the complex feather structure we often observe here for both Luna and Sol, this is an interesting article published in the Science section of the New York Times last year. Just some very general observations for the reading public, but what I find most exciting is how important Owls have been in studies by aeronautical engineers. Also note reference to the Global Owl Project, if you can’t wait to learn more about Owls from a scientific perspective.

  5. Sol keenly aware of outside noises. Extremely important to its development.

  6. Luna enters and begin to preen Sol. Believe she also may have snacked on a chipmunk that had been put aside.

  7. Warm day, Sol pants. Saw a hint that Luna too was panting, her feathers were visibly moving. Currently, preening, preening…

Luna is resting her right wing on the floor. Cooling off, may be.
    Sol is blocking the cam.

  8. Meant to add this from yesterday, Sol was scratching at the right ear. More balanced.

  9. On the swifts page, the statement provided for us viewers, is straight-forward. If any new information is to be given to the public, we will find it here. What else can be said without an examination.

Let’s keep this page current with pertinent documentation to allow the experts to examine photos and time stamped video of the information we provide and refrain from indelicate comments. Albeit timely strategy, since many are waiting patiently with baited breath.

  10. Thank you so much for the information regarding Sol.
I will remember him in prayer.
He is adorable and his mom is absolutely beautiful. We have
Barred – not GHO – where we live, so I am especially interested.

  11. Currently 78°, heading for 84° in the nest area. Sol is relaxed, staying cool, spread out over the nest.

Returned to check cam and my first thought was~ Sol, where are you!!?
What happened??! Owlet is laying flat.

Chipmunk is in the upper left.

  12. What does “I dare not ask the questions that are on my mind, but is there an updated prognosis on Sol’s Condition. ” mean?
Is there something I missed about Sol. What is wrong with him?
    Love this cam. It’s wonderful.
    Thanks
    Gin

  13. If only, Little One. Sol flapping its wings and wanting so badly to follow Mom.

I dare not ask the questions that are on my mind, but is there an updated prognosis on Sol’s Condition.

  14. Sol looking up at Luna as she perches at the entrance to the box, facing out.
