1. Sol was resting alone, after taking a nice long look, noticed Luna and egg were in the back of the nest box, jaw still dropped, Luna returns to the entrance and preens Sol.

   

2. So many sweet moments between Luna and Sol. That’s a lovely one.

3. A stunning feather chapeau for Luna’s Owlet.

   

4. Luna whistle calls and a suspect mouse tail was in the bottom right. Not an opportune photo moment, Adding instead, this archived photo pulled from the iPad. Baby Sol and protective Luna.

7. Sol’s beautiful eyes were opening, again, archived photos… Found on mini.

9. Luna has been gone since around 8:00 P.M. Must be really enjoying her true element. Hunting and perhaps a dip to refresh or perhaps to catch some yummy aquatic or amphibious critter for Owlet’s supper. Envisioning in my mind’s eye. Her youngster awaits.

   

10. Wide awake again. Where’s my Mom?

    

11. And here are those most impressive talons that will one day serve the little Owlet well.

    

12. Sometimes appearing so sleepy and then wide awake. Owlet listens and watches very closely for Mom’s return.

    

13. Sequence beginning at 8:03 P.M. just after Luna left. We can see the Owlet’s thick, downy coat and bright shiny eyes clearly and those mighty talons. So impressive.

    

14. Cam panning, lol. Sol is still alone, hope Luna’s lucky in her hunting.

    

15. Sol is alone, sitting up well. Missed when Luna left. Beautiful feathers coming in.

17. Sol is 19 days old today. Egg is 50 days. Mini isn’t cooperating.

18. Hope things work out. Thanks for sharing as long as it lasted. At least I was able to learn things that I will apply – we have a similar nesting box in our forest.
