Sorry for the delay but yes the baby will be named Sol.
Noche with one of two, back to back, food drops, minutes apart.
Innocence and a sense of wonder for the outside world AND a filled belly.
Innocence and s sense of wonder for the outside world.
Contentment, good feeding. Luna always on watch, listening.
Live Action!
8:13pm Luna exits.
8:32pm she’s back.
8:53pm Noche with food drop
8:56pm Noche with food drop
Listening outside, Luna returned shortly after this photo. Stunning owlet. Too cute. Stiff legged. egg is not visible, but it’s there.
Sara, I had an ah-hah moment, I always look to the highest points of the tree tops. Thanks for mentioning it.
Do you watch interior and exterior cam simultaneously?
Currently, as I type interior cam is 36 seconds ahead of exterior cam. It varies, but once you hear hooting or hear a food drop or exiting/entering you get a good chance to watch for them! Just happened!!! Too funny. I will wait for her to return.
Lynn- thanks for explaining the pics. I loved the picture of Luna sitting in the tree because she is sitting at the same height that I sometimes see GHOs in our woods. I have to remind myself not to look too high.
Extreme footage. Quiet day in the nest.
Luna was scratching her head, Took one dozen photos to get a clear one!
That is one large foot, I hope to get a clear photo of their feathered feet.
I did enhance the photos. Making it easier to see, darker green and sharpened, but the images do follow each other.
Sara, Luna was on her way back to the nest. Mid-air the photos aren’t so good. Day or night, the owls are blurry, move so fast.
Top IR photo is either Luna or Noche, coming or going, I didn’t mark it. The IR catches the eyes. Bottom photo, color photo, is Luna after she left the tree, heading back in the nest.
Lynn – I do see her. Is it Luna?
So much has happened in the last two weeks.
The manner of this owl, from tree she watches. Gifts of bats and mice. A small chirp is heard and calling of hoots. She’s on her way.
See her?
A defender of the Sentry box, Luna’s owlet stands confident and ready…something startles him/her, beak opens a couple times and then, the retreat.

Interesting plot and owl characters. Soren, Noctus, Marella, Eglantine. I hope to watch this movie soon. Imagining Luna, Noche and mighty owlet, long lived and well.
Day 15 is about when the owlets will find their legs. They begin to stand. Well, if owlet isn’t standing it’s close to doing so. Has been reaching up and pecking the camera. Unsure if it is tasting or expressing annoyance at something. Although, looked like a bad face to me! Luna pecks the cam when there’s loud sounds outside. Owlet does it now too, but unsure of the reason. Mimicking and/or because it’s reachable.
Not adding a photo, an extremely close up of eyes and beak, funny expression though, owlet had angry eyes. Currently, falling asleep upright, what a personality. Too cute.
Chance of rain is nearly 100% in the nest area. May be heavy at times this afternoon. Currently 64° heading for 69°. Shout out to Orville Todd MS weather station! hoot!
Vying for top spot. The camera was placed in the most optimum location!
Enjoying the comparison shots, when they are side by side, beak to beak or toe to toe.
Oh, such a sweet little face – has really softened up.
This is a capture of Luna with her Owlet snuggled below. Reminds me of images of “Owl Eyed Athena” on ancient Greek coins.
Safe and dry inside, Luna still holds onto the egg. Day 45.
Owlet is 15 days old, soon to be standing up! Anticipation!
Tiny owl face appears more everyday.
Rainy weather ahead, high humidity.
6:28am a nice feeding, then preening and relaxation.
Two weeks ago, we watched owlet roll along, a lot has happened since then.
