  1. What a sharp view, in color, it is easy to see now, that the barred owl created a nest bowl. Very awesome.

  2. Cam is zoomed back some now? I missed that too, lol. I checked my last photo at 9:209pm and the view changed, will keep watch tomorrow, things inside have moved.

  3. Things are moved since this afternoon. I will try to leave sound up tomorrow and catch live action hopefully.

  4. Too cold to leave my window open today, so I am listening, full volume. Occasional bump and knock, but will keep an ear for visitor.

  5. Nothing appears moved, still watching, with sound down during the day, I was having a hard time knowing if the birds are here or there.

Come on spring! Come on owls if you are so inclined!

Vacancy at the barred owl box!

  6. 4:48pm. Mike, are you testing? Barred Owl cam went black. no “Off Air” No “No signal” then back on in 2 minutes.

Quiet day today, not a lot happening near the cam/mic.

  7. Hello Lynn,
I see we have another camera going. Wow, I can’t believe it. A possible Barred Owl. You know what is funny…. I can call these owls into my yard by imitating them! We have lots of them here. One night I was able to call in at least 6 of them. We had company over and I asked them if they wanted to see how I can call the owls in. Of course they did not believe that I could do it. The expression on their faces was priceless after witnessing it first hand. And, their catlike scream is hair-raising.

  8. Still wondering about the critter inside the box. Squirrel or a screech owl, maybe? It didn’t make much noise when it left, hear commotion, saw it out the corner of my eye, then it was gone! Live action!

Listening to bird calls n sounds to ID them. Feel pretty sure a red tail hawk was calling today.

  9. 11:39am Scratching sounds, possibly from the nest box top. Someone is close, be it man or bird. Waited a few minutes and it has stopped. No bird sounds.

  10. Beautiful view inside the box. Don’t let it fool you, its bitter cold still. I haven’t seen any activity (yet.)

  11. Nice sounds in the nest box area. As woodpecker drills away on a tree, a dog barks, sounds like a large dog. Sunlight shines bright on the back wall of the nest box, moves along like a sun dial.

  12. So far today, have heard suspect dog barking, squirrel chatter, a tufted titmouse saying peter-peter-peter, airplanes and twice heard suspect hissing. I was out of the room, heard a hissing sound and came to check, both times were within a minute of each other.

I typed them as suspect, because I have no idea if it truly is what it seems to be. It sounded like a dog. I heard a hissing sound.

    Interesting nest box already.

  13. Bright sunshine is streaming in the upper left corner of cam view. I imagine this is from the entry/hole in the box.?

High hopes for an amazing story to come from this well-built nesting box.

Hear birds chirping in the area, nice.

  14. How exciting is this!?

I have only seen barred owls once, in a rehab center last summer and it tweaked my interest in owls. Now a chance to watch them Live in nature.

    “who cooks for you?”
