Luna is looking at us.
Hearing chirps and what sounds to be chewing.
New behavior from Luna.
No clear evidence of a pip here at 10:44 P.M., but eggs cannot be seen completely.
Fran, I waited a few minutes, didn’t see a pic from you, so I chose the back view, just in case.
Food Drop. Checked out the area.
Deer came close to nest box, Luna didn’t hear them. Dogs barked and white tails retreat fast into the trees.
Four deer are close. Wonder if it is the same four from last week?

Fran, I have noticed one note chirps… haven’t really listened today, been doing chores, will enjoy my computer time soon!
Beautiful, nearly an uncloudy, warm day in the nest box area, high 66° and sunny. Luna may be panting a little today. Then 3 days of rainy weather ahead.

Have you heard any chirps? It’s noisy here and I can’t tell. Thought early morning I heard them!

Today, egg #1 is 31 days old. Egg #2 is 28 days old.
Incubation for barred owl eggs is 28-33 days.
Pip/Hatch Watch continues!
Hatching is a hard task for the little owlets. They use a lot of energy and at this point the yolk sac will get used up.
They will be tired and hungry. Eyes will be closed for about one week.
High hopes for the weeks ahead.

On rare occasion when Luna would fly off after sunrise, this was her return, Apr23,8:31a.m. I had commented about how she sort of slivers, falls back into the nest box, in this photo she had begun to roll herself back inside. Her left wing goes in last and usually is pointed straight up as she pulls it inside the nest box.
She is careful of those eggs for sure.

I do love the new double cam. I saw Luna come back from her little fly about on one cam and watched her settle on the eggs on the other. thanks.
A few times saw blinking dots of light, wondered if it was Noche in two different areas.
Eggs look great, both parents were seen and he brought food, a fantastic day. Pip watch continues for another day!??

9:45pm she returned. She is not graceful returning inside the box, but she’s so cautious to enter slowly, sort of falls in, in slow motion.
9:39pm Luna flew off
He’s fairly consistent, 8:30/9:30pm, glad she ate.
Ive seen what looks like eye blinking in IR.
Wonder if it was Noche or he spotted something.

Glad you got pic Fran, Sara I’m with you, saw him fly in and then nothing. wondering if he entered the nest box? Time will tell.
Ive seen white (eyeballs) in the trees.
9:18pm Noche flew in, looked like he had a frog. Cams are off/froze didnt see him leave. Possible glowing eyes in the trees?
I have the outside cam but the nest cam keeps going off air.
