Two days before first egg

The stone wall is an outer wall of the shed in which the adults made their “nest.” The term is something of a euphemism, since eggs are simply laid on the dirt floor. The adults typically pause here on the way to and from the nest area, which is inside the shed. The pair were seen in and around the shed several weeks before settling in. This year, 2012, is the third consecutive breeding season that this shed is being used for black vultures nesting..
